Time for Man City defensive double up?
It is no surprise to see that bookies assign the highest probability of a clean sheet in GW13 to Manchester City.
Man City face WBA who have conceded more goals and more xG than any other team this season. Also, City have been very solid defensively lately.
While their attack is showing shaky performances, it might be good idea to invest more in their defense rather than the attack.
City have still nice run of fixtures ahead, so you should consider having at least one of their defenders in your FPL squad.
Dias and Ederson are the most secure ones. And maybe even double up doesn’t have to be a bad idea. Perhaps Ederson + Dias, or Dias + Stones or Dias + Cancelo.
However, apart from the first combo, the others are riskier due to rotation.
Expected number of clean sheets in GW13
Bookies are expecting 5.23 clean sheets in GW13. That’s more than 5.18 they predicted for GW12.
So far this season, we have seen clean sheets at the rate 5.33 clean sheets per gameweek.
So, after very crazy first gameweeks that were full of goals, we are finally seeing clean sheet numbers to align with bookmakers’ predictions.
The offensive overperformance we have been talking about since GW6, is now finally over.
