Best Reece James Replacements for Gameweek 19

fpl reece james replacement

Reece James is out for 3-4 weeks, and FPL managers face a dilemma when picking his best replacement.

So, let’s look who are Reece James possible replacements for Gameweek 19 in Fantasy Premier League.

Best Reece James replacements in FPL

5. TAA (7.2m, Liverpool)

  • a differential as he is owned mainly by dead teams
  • however, Liverpool not very convincing at the back
  • on set pieces, offer high attacking treat so you do not have to rely on clean sheet points solely
  • we all had him in our teams before the start of the season for a reason – he still might deliver the points we expected from him, but in the cluster in the second half of the season (something similar we saw from Robertson in the last season)

4. Luke Shaw (4.8m, Manchester United)

  • only Newcastle and kept more clean sheets than Manchester United this season
  • offer attacking threat and bonus points potential as well
  • good fixtures in the Gameweek 19

3. Gabriel (5.2m, Arsenal)

  • Arsenal second for clean sheets this season
  • you want best players from best teams in your FPL squad
  • goal threat – 5 goals last season, 2 goals this season
  • possibility of a double gameweek in GW21, then a double in GW23

2. Trippier (5.9m, Newcastle)

  • if you do not own Trippier, then he is the obvious James replacement unless you want to try to differentiate your team from the template

1. Cucurella (5.2m, Chelsea)

  • given Chelsea has double gameweek in GW19, it is ok to replace James with another Chelsea defender
  • cheap route into Chelsea defence
  • but slight rotation risk
  • you could go for Thiago Silva as well, as he might be a bit more likely to start both of Chelsea games in DGW19
