FPL Double Gameweek 34: Tips, Captain, Transfers & Team

fpl gw34 tips 2024

Double Gameweek 34 is here – and it might be a time to use some chips. If you still have free hit or triple captain available (or even bench boost if you wildcarded few gameweeks ago), this is a good opportunity to use one of them (but of course, it is team-dependent and chip-strategy dependent).

Let’s jump to our FPL GW34 Tips, with the best picks, fixtures to target, transfer targets, captain, odds & team selection for Double Gameweek 34.

Just to remind you, Spurs do not play in GW34, while Liverpool, Arsenal, Wolves, Crystal Palace, Bournemouth, Sheffield and Everton play twice.

1. Fantasy Premier League Double Gameweek 34 Tips

  • Focus mainly on Arsenal and Liverpool players – if you are on free hit, getting 3+3 players from these teams seems like a no-brainer
  • Do not force your team to have 11 double gameweek players at each cost. Having just 8-9 quality double gameweek players (with heavy focus on Liverpool & Arsenal) + 2-3 quality single gameweek players like Haaland, Foden, Watkins or Palmer is totally fine. Double gameweeks are sometimes overrated – especially when poorer teams play twice.
  • We are almost at the finish line of this FPL season – team value does not matter as much as it used to in the first half of the season – you can afford to lose some money you have tightened up in players
  • Do not lose sight of the following gameweeks, especially of double gameweek 35 and double gameweek 37 (Read more: when is the next double gameweek in FPL?)
  • It is OK to have Saka + 2 Arsenal defenders – Arsenal has the best defense of this season. The lowest xG conceded, fewest goals conceded and the most clean sheets of all teams
  • With Jota and TAA back available, expect some rotation among Liverpool players
  • But still, Salah + Diaz + VVD is our preferred trio from Liverpool for DGW34
  • Jota could be a great one-week punt, but do not expect him to start both matches as he is just back from the injury
  • It is alright to keep Watkins in your team until the end of the season despite Aston Villa not having any double gameweek. He is the top scoring player in the game, just do not overlook him.
  • Ait Nouri is not expected to start against Arsenal
  • Cunha is out as well
  • We would keep Haaland. But if you will wildcard in GW35, we would sell him – especially if you are not sure what to do with your free transfers

2. Key players to own and transfer targets for GW34

Key players

  • Salah – your GW34 (triple) captain
  • Saka
  • Havertz/Odegaard – we prefer Havertz of the two
  • Raya/Gabriel/Saliba/White – if we could pick just one of them, it would be White
  • Diaz, VVD – our preferred 2 Liverpool players to field next to Salah
  • Solanke – key man for Bournemouth

Potential transfer targets:

  1. Liverpool and Arsenal players
  2. Eze, OliseEze is on free kicks, and penalties, while Olise is 5th for points per match among midfielders this season (after Salah, Palmer, Saka, Son) and 7th among all players
  3. Pickford – could be your GK until end of the season, he is our preferred goalkeeper for GW34
  4. Cunha – back from injury, and back in form

Using Free Hit

  •  good for managers who either: do not have at least 6-7 key double gameweek 34 players or for managers who wildcarded around GW30-33 in order to prepare their team for DGW37
  • if you still have your wildcard and free hit, and you are not satisfied how your team is looking for GW34, your chip strategy could be: FH34 + WC35 + BB37 + TC38
  • Find our free hit team as inspiration: FPL Free Hit team for Gameweek 34

Using triple captain

  • there are not many triple captain opportunities left, especially if you want to bench boost in GW37. If that is your case, you could use triple captain now on Salah
